Fall activities in Orange County you don’t want to miss out on!

Orange County has so many fun Fall Activities to do with the family. I am sharing our 5 favorite places that we think are worth taking the whole family.

1. Tanaka Farms – Irvine, CA. (A REAL Pumpkin Patch)

Have you ever picked your own pumpkin right out of the pumpkin patch? Tanaka Farms is one of the only farms in Orange County with a REAL pumpkin patch!

Tanaka Farms offer lots of activities for kids, from visiting the barnyard, wagon rides, arts and crafts to lots of photo opportunity!

Our Tanaka Farms Experience

Firstly, the staff at Tanaka farms are so nice and welcoming!

If you want a nice quiet visit to the pumpkin patch, highly suggest going on a weekday morning. Also, parking is FREE in the mornings!

PARKING PASSES ARE REQUIRED. Parking passes are FREE Monday-Thursday and Fridays until 11:30am. A $10 parking fee is required beginning at 12pm of Friday and all day Saturdays and Sundays.

We purchased the General Admission Tickets: $10 per person. Kids 2 years and under are FREE!

The General admission includes entry to the Pumpkin Patch, Strawbale Maze, and Play Area for the kids.

However, I suggest purchasing the Value Package (Includes Entry, Wagon Ride, & Barnyard): $20 Save $2! (2 years and under are FREE). The Wagon Ride is a MUST! The wagon ride takes you around the whole farm.

2. My Local Library

Visiting your local library is a great place where your little ones have an opportunity to gain language and literacy development, social skills, and cognition development.

Play & Learn Irvine Heritage Park Library

Play and Learn are on Tuesdays at 10:20am (September 6th to November 15th) and Thursdays 10:20 (September 1st to November 17th)

For children ages 0-5 years old. They will have an opportunity to learn through play and have social interaction with other kids.

Toddler Storytime: Irvine Heritage Park Library

Toddler Storytime is on Tuesdays at 11am (September 6th to November 15th) andThursdays at 10am (September 1st to November 15th)

For children 1-3 years old. Your child will enjoy stories, songs, and rhymes!

Preschool Storytime: Irvine Heritage Park Library

Preschool Storytime is on Thursdays at 11 AM (September 1st to November 17th)

For children ages 3-5 years old.

3. Pretend City Children’s Museum

Pretend City Children’s Museum is such a great place to visit with your little ones.

Pretend City is designed for children to learn how the real world works while engaging their curiosities and imaginations.

Pretend City is full of age-appropiate activities and exhibits, children have an opportunity for math, reading and science skills while fostering curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. Children are learning in a unique, hands-on environment.

4. Irvine Park Railroad’s Pumpkin Patch

The Irvine Park Railroad 2022 Pumpkin Patch is fun for the whole family. Pumpkin Patch is full of fun activities for all ages include train rides, hay rides, face painting, moon bounces, carnival games, pumpkin decorating, cookie decorating, pumpkins, and so much more!

Pumpkin Patch Admission

The entrance into the pumpkin patch is FREE! Offering FREE ACTIVITIES for all Pumpkin Patch visitors includes the haunted house, hay maze, and picture stands.

There are prices for activities. Activity tickets may be purchased in person at the train station.

The County of Orange charges a park entrance fee. Parking is $3.00 per vehicle on weekdays, $5.00 per vehicle on weekends

If you want to avoid the crowd I suggest to visit the pumpkin patch early in the season OR early in the morning the closer the date to Halloween. This will help prevent long park entrance lines and crowds at the event.

5. Orange County Zoo

Orange County Zoo located inside beautiful Irvine Regional Park. The OC Zoo is such a cute little place for the whole family.

Animals on exhibit include black bears, mountain lions, bald eagle, red-tailed hawk, great horned owls, porcupine, coyotes, and more. The zoo also has a petting zoo with goats, sheep, doves, chickens and more.

The entrance fee is $2.00 per person and children 2 and under are FREE.
