Winter Ice Painting For Kids

If you’re looking for an fun winter activity for kids that will provide a sensory rich experience you MUST give this one a try!
This activity if perfect for Toddlers and Preschoolers.

Ice Painting Activities

Ice painting gives your child the opportunity to explore color mixing, patterns and feel the texture of the slippery, cold, wet paint.

For preschoolers you can expand the activity by talking about the science behind ice – concepts of observation, prediction, and testing.

This activity is also great for developing fine motor and gross motor manipulative skills.

Ice Paint Play

You’ll Need:

  • ice cube tray
  • washable paint
  • popsicle sticks
  • water

How to:

  • Begin by filling an ice cube tray with paint. About 1/4 of the way. (Use the colors desired)
  • Fill the ice slots the rest of the way with water and carefully stir until combined.
  • Add the popsicle sticks.
  • Put the ice tray in the freezer for about 4-6 hours or overnight.

Simply give your child a paper and they will have fun creating beautiful icy works of art.
